Da Big Day!It's Esther's big day
tomorrow today! After almost a decade long of
pak-toring, they have finally decided to tie the knot! And we are all very excited about "
acting pretty" tomorrow...until I realized that I look exceptionally ugly recently
sia...with all the pimples popping out like
nobody's business. Coupled with sneezing like
nobody's business every morning which somehow resulted in my puffy eyes, bloated face, whatever. Everything is just so wrong.
Anyways, still gonna try act pretty tomorrow, gonna see
lotsa long time no see friends. At most, I hide myself near the toilet exit
hahahaa. =D
In other random matters, can somebody explain to me the rationale behind adding a complete stranger as a friend in
Facebook?!?! I was on the cab after walking in my torturous shoes for the whole day in Orchard and keep
kena-ing escalators under maintenance which made my poor feet climb like hell.
Well, I was digressing. What I was really trying to say was that I was on the cab and I overheard on the radio the discussion about adding strangers in
Facebook. The DJ was asking this gal (which I suspected to be a teenager) whether she will add complete strangers to her
Facebook and she answered a meek yes. And when asked if she will go out with these strangers if they do ask her out, she answered no, because they may kidnap and do bad things to her. Fair enough. And finally, when asked, why in the first place would she add them then? She answered an intelligent "For the fun of it" and proclaimed that it's not just a statistical addition to her "friends collection". Like,
wtf!
Tell me I'm not the only one with this huge question mark on my head.

The Wedding
Yesterday, I went to my polymate's wedding dinner at
Holiday Inn Atrium. I was so stupid, I took MRT to Tiong Bahru Station, then waited a whole 20 minutes for cab. When in actual fact, I could have taken to Orchard MRT, then take bus 16, because the freaking hotel is just opposite Zouk and I know how to go to Zouk.
Anyway, this is the first wedding dinner I've attended of somebody who's of the same age as me. I've always thought that 24 years old is a little bit too young to get married, like you can enjoy a few more years of singlehood before getting hitched. But then, I've also came to realize that if the next few years of dating life is going to be the same as your past years, then why waste time when you can start a new phase of life? Just some random thought.
My friend looked gorgeous that day. I supposed every bride is at her most beautiful on her special day. I read somewhere that women are always fantasizing about her own wedding. Funny though, coz I have not actually thought of how my own wedding would be.
I think a wedding dinner is also a good place to mingle and catch up with friends whom you have not seen for a long time. Another friend commented that wedding dinners nowadays are like so "express", you can finish it within 2 hours or so, as compared to your
ah-ma times. I think it's because as you get older, quality time passes like a flash, especially so when you come for the dinner late as compared to your
ah-ma times, when people arrive for dinner at 6 and you are young without friends of your age, so you just sit at one corner and rot while everybody else is busy talking.
On a sidenote, I realized just yesterday how gentlemanly my friend's boyfriend is.
You know, gentlemanly guys never fail to impress me.
